Painting in the dim street light

Reached our friends' place before they came home. While wainting, I did this quick oil sketch of their house in the lim street light at 8 p.m.

Came to the footbridge late in the afternoon to continue my plein air painting in the park. The Assiniboine River at the park gleamed in the late afternoon sunshine. It was a delightful painting experience.

I have never in my life received so many birthday greetings as this year from my Facebook friends. It is such a busy day for me! There is a after-school meeting for support staff at school , and it was past 5 pm already when I came home. I drove straight to North Hill to deliver a painting , and  after coming  back to finish my supper in a hurry, we went to cast our vote for Manitoba provincial election. It was already past 7 p.m when I came home, and there was not much of sunlight left.  I came to my easel on our patio and did this quick oil sketch of sunset to mark my 51st birthday.

Returning to the aspen wood on Lake Katherine

Returned to Lake Katherine in the afternoon to painted the same aspen wood with most of aspens have shed their leaves already. However, there is something even more beautiful about the sight.

This is the finished painting from behind the well-known restaurant on the top of Clear lake golf course. It took me about 4 hours from start to finish. It is 24"x 36" on stretched canvas.
