Another window view on the autumn morning

It is foggy and rainy outside. The mood from outside blends so well with that of Rachmaninoff's second   piano concerto  aired on CBC Radio 2 while I  am painting again the window view.

The almost leaf-less basswood trees across the street

The sun came out of the clouds briefly in the morning. I set up my easel in a hurry to try to capture the brief moment when the morning sunlight is shining through the basswood trees across the street with its shimmering surface in the sun.

a glimpse of sunset from our backyard

I have never in my life received so many birthday greetings as this year from my Facebook friends. It is such a busy day for me! There is a after-school meeting for support staff at school , and it was past 5 pm already when I came home. I drove straight to North Hill to deliver a painting , and  after coming  back to finish my supper in a hurry, we went to cast our vote for Manitoba provincial election. It was already past 7 p.m when I came home, and there was not much of sunlight left.  I came to my easel on our patio and did this quick oil sketch of sunset to mark my 51st birthday.

A house draped with autumn foliage

This house tucked away quietly on the side of the street on the east end of the town seemed to be quite unassuming until you approached it when you start to see its hidden surprises.

A window view from our bedroom earl in the morning

Ablaze with color on Elmdale

Came to the street of Elmdale to paint this beautiful house at the most beautiful time of the year. Noticed that all the streets in this part of Brandon have different species of trees in their names. Elmdale truly lives to its name especially at this time of year when all the elm trees lining up along the street are ablaze with golden colour.

Balmoral Bay on autumn morning

A quick oil sketch of Balmoral Bay in the morning when the full sunlight was on the two big trees turning golden yellow across the street.
