A glimpse out of our living room window again
It must have rained a bit overnight with the wet driveway. The sun came out briefly , and a gust of wind tossing leaves into the sky. Did this oil sketch after a quick lunch.
A glimpse over our hedges from our backyard this morning
The only color left is from the lonely aspen tree in Dan's backyard. It is so quiet that I can almost hear the trembling leaves from the aspen.

Brandon University Original Building
It is very warm, which makes painting outdoor at noon so enjoyable. It is very quiet on B.U campus, and thee is not much sign of students activities around other than occasional sight of a few students walking towards the building and one student found herself a quiet corner reading alone.

Finally a warm and sunny afternoon!
Finally the sun comes out after two days of snow. Have Invited my painting class over for painting outdoor today, and it is really an enjoyable experience to all of us. At the end of our outdoor painting session, I started this demo painting of our backyard view. It was around 4 p.m in the afternoon when the full sunlight was right on the small maple tree.It may be the last warm and sunny day today, and winter is already close at the door.

Aftermath of an early snowfall
What a bleak view from our front yard in the afternoon when the snow stopped ! All the leaves from our ash tree were knocked off the tree by the wet snow before they had a chance to turn golden yellow as they always do at this time of the year. With overcasting cloudy sky , with dead leaves scattered over the snow covered lawn and with a little bit of snow flakes still falling , I did this quick oil sketch of a bleak autumn scene.

Snow accumulated on the hedges overnight
Have to admit that there is something absolutely beuatiful about the early snow fall in the fall when the leaves of trees are still green. With the overnight snow accumulated over the hedges contrasting beautifully with the red maple leaves, I spent an hour painting this view before supper today , and finished it just in time to watch the Jeopardy game.

A sudden fall of snow in early fall season
What a dramatic contrast nature's whimsical brush stroke suddenly creates today! Heavy snow has suddenly created an illusion of a Christmas season if it were not for the remaining green color of the foliages. With snow continuously falling over my canvas , my easel I frantically brushed away the falling snow flakes off my face of canvas to finish this painting before it was too wet and too cold to make my oil paint stay on the surface.
