Lake Katherine of Riding Mountain National Park

We came to Lake Katherine around noon to have our picnic here on the Loon's Island on the shore of Lake Katherine. It was such a tranquil spot when the silence was only broken by the occasional call of the birds. There is sign of fall all around us now and Sarah is leaving for Edmonton to start her second year of university there. It is always sad at the end of summer to see your kid leaving you again.

Our house viewed across the street

It is our 24th wedding anniversary and I decided to paint a view of our house. We have been married almost for a quarter of a century now and can not believe how a concrete real life experience could so soon fade into distant past. There is always a mixture of sweet sadness in our emotions.

Deep Bay on Clear Lake

Came to Deep Bay to paint again when it was much quieter today without much of a disturbance from flocks of tourists. I was attracted by the interplay of warm and cool lights and colors and the shadow casted over the surface of the lake by the spruces on the shore.

A cottage of Hydeaway

Nestled between the wood and the lake is this beautiful cottage on Wasagaming Drive at Clear Lake. I came to paint this place at about 10 am when the morning sunlight was pouring onto its facade against an azure blue sky and lake.

It was again windy and cold when I came to paint a view of the city hall this morning but just perfect for outdoor painting.

A house on a farm near Shilo

Drove for about 30 kilometers southeast of Brandon to find this house on a farm against the forest on the edge of Spruce Wood Provincial Park near Shilo. Half way through the painting I was caught in a downpour of a summer storm.

Valley view on No. 10 Highway

Just past Minnidosa drivers will find this view of a valley with a church in the distance on highway No. 10 in Manitoba on their way to Riding Mountain National Park. I painted this view in the late afternoon when the sky was lit from the west by the glow of sunset.

Steeped in the late afternoon sun

Painted this view behind Visitor Center in the late afternoon when the late afternoon sunlight was pouring in from behind the wall of spruces.

Went back to Clear Lake this morning and painted this familiar view of the lake on a big stretched canvas.

A glimpse of our backyard

Painted this view in a hurry with swarms of mosquitoes behind our hedges in the late afternoon.

Dinsdale Park of Brandon

A view on Dinsdale in Brandon painted at noon when it was very humid and hot surrounded by swamps of mosquitoes.

Across the street

Painted this view numerous times now. Still intrigued by the light pattern in the morning when sunlight seeping through the trees early in the morning.
