Slope of Tianshan Mountain dotted with Mongolian yurts.

Painted this view while visiting a scenic spot at the foot of Tianshan Mountains near Urumqi. This will be my last painting for a while before I go back to Canada as I have yet  lots of travelling to do.

A glimpse of a Gobi Desert

A friend in Urumqi drove us to this stretch of Gobi desert to enjoy the sight of a kind of blossoming desert brushes. When we came to the spot, it was a bit too early in the season for blossoming. Nevertheless, it was very exciting to paint this sweeping view of a desert engulfed by  absolute silence.

Painting a field of sunflowers

We will be leaving Beitun for Urumqi tomorrow. I came to this field of sunflowers to paint. Did not take a digital image of the finished painting before giving it away.
